Anna Shpakovskaya Gets Award by Okinawa Pref.
At October 27, 2016, Anna Shpakovskaya has been awarded a certificate of recognition for her contribution to cultural exchange between Okinawa and Germany
The award was given by the governor of Okinawa prefecture Takeshi Onaga. It acknowledged Anna’s active participation in promoting cultural exchange between Okinawa and Germany. Since joining the Okinawan Community in Germany in 2010, Anna has been actively involved in organization of various cultural events, such as Ryukyu Festival in Düsseldorf, Okinawan traditional music concerts and Okinawan traditional art workshops in Frankfurt, Cologne, Bonn and Dortmund.
The ceremony was a part of the 6th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival that took place in Okinawan capital city Naha from October 25 to 30, 2016. Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival takes place every five years to promote Okinawan soft power both in Japan and abroad.
One of the main objectives of the Okinawan Community in Deutschland is to establish a platform for cultural exchange between Okinawa and Germany. It pays a specific attention to providing exchange opportunities to talented young people in the two countries.
