Research Student Assistantship
Application deadline: June 6, 2017. – The DFG Research Training Group 1613/2 Risk and East Asia is now recruiting a masters’ student
to join the research and training activities of the doctoral college as Research Student. Successful applicants will support the research activities of postdoctoral scholars in the Research Training Group 1613 and will be able to join a range of training activities. The position is initially awarded for 6 months with a renewal option of a further 6 months. It is the perfect opportunity to build a basis for future studies, thus students with an explicit interest in continuing in a Ph.D. program or planning to pursue a research-oriented career in East Asian Studies are encouraged to apply.
To apply you must be either:
- enrolled in the program M.A. Contemporary East Asian Studies or M.A. Modern East Asian Studies, or
- be following a degree program in the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Economics or the Mercator School of Management, with an explicit focus on East Asia.
In addition, you must show evidence of excellent academic achievement.
The Research Student Assistantship is for 10 hours per week and will be compensated at the university rate for student assistants (Studentische Hilfskräfte). Start date will be either 1st August 2017 (pending hiring procedures).

- a cover letter indicating the applicant’s motivation and the name of a Professor in the current degree program as referee (recommendation letters not required)
