Two Postdoctoral Positions in East Asian Economic Studies at IN-EAST
and Mercator School of Management, Full Time, for 36 Months, Application Deadline: July 8, 2021

The University of Duisburg-Essen invites applications for
Two Postdoctoral Positions (F/M/X)
(Pay grade E 13 TV-L)
at the Mercator School of Management (MSM) and the Institute of East Asian Studies (IN-EAST), both located at the Duisburg campus.
Main Tasks:
The successful candidates should carry out independent research in the field of East Asian Business or Economic Studies (preferably with a focus on Japan or Korea) or in transnational studies with a focus on the East Asian region. It is expected that they teach up to 4 hours/week in the East Asian Studies programmes at BA and MA level and fulfil some administrative tasks. The job responsibilities allow opportunities for the further development of academic qualifications and skills.
Your Profile:
- MA (or equivalent) and a dissertation/thesis in economics, business administration or area studies with a focus on economics
- Excellent knowledge of the East Asian region or one of its countries (in particular Japan or Korea)
- Very good knowledge of an East Asian language and of the English language
The concept of East Asian Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen grounds regional studies research and teaching in the theories and methods of the social and economic sciences.
