On 7 December, Oliver Schwarz will give a public lecture on the European Union's enlargement policy. The event is part of the lecture "Introduction to European Integration" by Prof Dr Michael Kaeding. The lecture is open to all interested parties.

30 November 2023 Re-Thinking EU Enlargement
Following an invitation from Zamira Xhaferri and Dorian Jano, Oliver Schwarz will take part in the Jean Monnet workshop "Re-Thinking EU Enlargement" on 1 December. The workshop will take place at the University of Amsterdam and is co-financed by the Amsterdam Centre for European Studies (ACES) and the Jean Monnet Module "Enlargement and External Relations of the EU". Oliver Schwarz's contribution is entitled "Russia's war against Ukraine: A geopolitical turning point for EU enlargement?". Further information on the workshop can be found here.

Oliver Schwarz's consultation hours for the winter semester 2023/24 are now fixed. These are now organised via a DFN appointment planner and take place exclusively via Zoom.
18 July2023 Workshop
Oliver Schwarz is taking part in this year's UB|SchreibCamp, which will take place from 7 to 11 August on the Duisburg campus. As in previous years, the programme is focused entirely on academic writing. The workshop "Does ChatGPT write my term paper?" offered by Oliver Schwarz will take place on 11 August. Registration is now open.

1 April 2023 Consultation Hours
With the start of the lecture period in the summer semester, Oliver Schwarz's consultation hours will take place weekly on Wednesdays from 10 and 11 am. Appointments can be made now via Doodle.
20 March 2023 North Macedonia
On 24 March, Oliver Schwarz will take part in the authors' workshop "The Political Systems in Eastern Europe". The workshop is organised by Sonja Priebus and Timm Beichelt from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and aims to compile a new textbook. The contribution by Oliver Schwarz is dealing with the political system in North Macedonia. The publication of the volume is planned for 2024.
20 February 2023 SOG Annual Meeting
From 23 to 25 February, Oliver Schwarz will be attending the annual SOG conference in Hamburg. After the first working meetings on Thursday, the symposium on the topic of "Russia and Southeast Europe: Perceptions and Cultural Diplomacy" and the member's meeting will be on the agenda on Friday.
