Research "Fear of Crime"-Survey Konstanz 2002
Between between January 22 and April 16, 2002 we conducted a fear of crime survey of the general population in Konstanz. This TDM mail survey yielded a response rate of 53.75% (n=1081). The survey questionnaire (in German) was based on the questionnaire of our DEFECT-project. The survey was done to clarify two methodological issues in the design of victimization surveys:
- Accuracy of Birthday Respondent Selection Methods in Mail Surveys (click for details)
- Context Effects in Measuring Subjective Probabilities (click for details)
Since the project group was motivated by their methodological interests, the survey was not analyzed in any criminological detail. Only a press release was published at the 11. April 2002 (in german). The data set is available on request to the principal investigator.
