Kongress Zukunftsformate der Region

(English below) Vielfältige lokale, regionale und globale Akteurinnen und Akteure aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Kultur diskutieren bei dem hybriden Kongress „Zukunftsformate der Region: Lokal – regional – global“ aktuelle Fragen, werfen Schlaglichter auf innovative Projekte und zeigen Perspektiven des Wandels auf. JUS-Sprecher Prof. Dr. Jens Martin Gurr wird vor dem Hintergrund des transatlantischen Transfers städtischer Entwicklungskonzepte Beispiele aus dem Forschungsprojekt „CityScripts“ vorstellen.

Der Kongress gewährt einen Einblick in aktuellste Entwicklungen zukunftsweisender Stadtentwicklung und bietet die Möglichkeit, mit internationalen Fachleuten – vor Ort auf Zollverein in Essen oder interaktiv online zu diskutieren. Am Abend des 06. Dezember 2021 wird anschließend an das Format der RUHR TALKS mit den Referentinnen und Referenten die Frage erörtert: „Wie reden wir über die Zukunft?“ Mit Beispielen aus dem Forschungsprojekt „Scripts for Postindustrial Urban Futures“ (unter der Leitung der JUS-Mitglieder Prof. Dr. Jens Martin Gurr und Prof. Dr. Barbara Buchenau, Prorektorin für gesellschaftliche Verantwortung der UDE) und weiteren Beiträgen werden an diesem Abend die Geschichten über die Zukunft der Region aus der Sicht von Forscherinnen und Forschern, Schriftstellerinnen und Schriftstellern diskutiert.
Am Dienstag, den 7. Dezember 2021, wird im 3. Teil des Tages darüber gesprochen, wie Städte international die aktuellen Herausforderungen bewältigen. Professor Dr. Jens Martin Gurr wird dazu den transatlantischen Transfer städtischer Entwicklungskonzepte beleuchten.

Numerous local, regional and global actors from politics, business, science and culture will discuss current issues at the hybrid congress "Future Formats of the Region: Local - Regional - Global", highlight innovative projects and show perspectives for change. JUS speaker Prof. Dr. Jens Martin Gurr will present examples from the research project "CityScripts" in the context of the transatlantic transfer of urban development concepts.

The congress provides an insight into the latest developments in forward-looking urban development and offers the opportunity to discuss with international experts - on site at Zollverein in Essen or interactively online. On the evening of 06 December 2021, the RUHR TALKS format will be followed by a discussion with the speakers on the question: "How do we talk about the future?" With examples from the research project "Scripts for Postindustrial Urban Futures" (led by the JUS members Prof. Dr. Jens Martin Gurr and Prof. Dr. Barbara Buchenau, vice-rector for Social Responsibility) and other contributions, the stories about the future of the region will be discussed on this evening from the perspective of researchers and writers.
On Tuesday, 7 December 2021, the 3rd part of the day will address the question how cities internationally are coping with the current challenges. Prof. Dr. Jens Martin Gurr will focus on the transatlantic transfer of urban development concepts.
