Die technische Universität von Galati sucht über das ZLV den Dialog mit der Universität Duisburg-Essen zwecks Einrichtung eigener Logistik-Masterstudiengänge

Delegation aus der rumänischen Hafenstadt Galati zu Besuch im ZLV - Romanian delegation from the fluvial port of Galati visits the Centre for Logistics and Traffic (ZLV) in Duisburg

Carmen Costache, President of the Romanian Inlands Ports Union and Vice President of the European Federation of Inland Ports at the European Commission, and Prof. Mihai Floroiu, Director of the Department of Law at the University Dunarea de Jos in Galati visited the Centre for Logistics & Traffic (ZLV) at the University of Duisburg-Essen today.

The first meeting between ZLV’s managing director Klaus Krumme and the Romanian delegation was initiated by DIALOGistik Duisburg, a joint venture between UDE and the Port of Duisburg, which is consolidating expert knowledge from innovative research fields such as education and training, corporate social responsibility and new IT?tools to efficiently optimize the cooperation within logistics networks.

To demonstrate how important this collaboration was, representatives from the Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems (DST), the Department for Transport Systems and Logistics as well as the DIALGOGistik Duisburg e.V. accompanied the Romanian delegation. Klaus Krumme, managing director of the ZLV, showed himself to be impressed by the Romanian efforts to set up a new interdisciplinary academic curricular: “We very much appreciate the efforts made by the University of Galati and are looking forward to further promising collaboration within research and teaching in the near future”. Prof. Mihai Floroiu, very much interested in the structure of the UDE master study programme Logistics Engineering (M.Sc.) added: “We hope that we could cooperate in a thorough manner, within a well placed niche of the academic curricula”.
ZLV-colleague Brunhilde Böhls, fluent in Romanian and official travel guide in Duisburg, accompanied the guests on the latter sightseeing program through Duisburg.
