Resilient Urban Industrial Systems
Call for applications: ECoL summer school in Istanbul
In August 2015, the first summer school on Emerging Concepts of Logistics (ECoL) will take place in Istanbul. Master and PhD candidates, Post-Docs as well as practitioners are invited to discuss innovations in the interdisciplinary and service-oriented field of logistics during a six-day programme, touching upon a variety of topics regarding Resilient Urban Industrial Systems. As the ECoL network aims at integrating neighboring disciplines, it is not necessary for applicants to be educated logisticians!
The summer school, which is conjointly organised by Koç University, Istanbul, and the University of Duisburg-Essen, will take place between the 17th to the 22nd of August 2015 on the scenic campus of Koç University in the North of Istanbul.
It is the first of a whole series of events intended to establish the European ECoL network. The idea behind ECoL, namely to connect experts on Emerging Concepts of Logistics, evolved within the EU-project LOG4GREEN. This undertaking as a so called Regions of Knowledge initiative was set up to develop a joint research agenda on sustainable logistics. Now through ECoL, the groundbreaking collaboration of several European research projects will be made accessible to a wider audience and to extended expert groups. It is the long term goal of the ECoL network to initiate new and further strengthen existing partnerships; in short to intensify research on ECoL topics.
Please find further information about ECoL, the summer school and details about your application (until 21 June 2015) on http://ecol-summerschool.net/.
