ECoL Summer School 2016 open for application

We are proud to announce the second Summer School on Emerging Concepts of Logistics (ECoL) which will take place in August 2016 in Duisburg.

Master and PhD candidates, Post-Docs as well as practitioners are invited to discuss innovations in the interdisciplinary and service-oriented field of logistics, supply chains, resource management and related majors connected to this year’s focus on the topic “Port of the Future” during a seven-days agenda. The ECoL network aims at integrating neighboring disciplines. Therefore, one does not necessarily have to be a skilled logistician in order to apply for admission to the ECoL Summer School. The summer school will take place from the 21st to the 27th of August 2016 in Duisburg.

Last year's ECoL Summer School was held at the Campus of Koç University in Istanbul. More than 30 participants from eight countries shared their expertise and innovative ideas on the programme's topic „Resilient Urban Industrial Systems“ during workshops, presentations and on excursions.

The idea to connect experts on Emerging Concepts of Logistics evolved within the EU-project LOG4GREEN. This undertaking as a so called Regions of Knowledge-Initiative was set up to develop a joint research agenda on sustainable logistics. By offering a summer school, the groundbreaking collaboration of several European research projects will be made accessible to a wider audience. The long term goal of the ECoL network is to initiate and strengthen partnerships while intensifying a consistent scientific understanding on ECoL topics.
ECoL Summer School 2016 is conjointly organised by Koç University, Istanbul, and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
