The project aims at increasing the efficiency of reactive Large-Eddy Simulations for gas turbine combustors. The prediction of emissions (CO & NOx) require a transient simulation, highly resolved in space and time with direct chemistry, which makes them infeasible for engineering applications in industry. The idea is to apply machine learning methods, more specifically “deep learning”, to replace and therefore avoid computationally expensive routines in the calculation.
