8 November 2021 Seminar Lecture
On Friday, 12 November, Oliver Schwarz will give a lecture on "Europe and Social Democracy". His lecture is part of a seminar of the Political Academy of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in NRW. Further information on this seminar can be found here.
4 November 2021 Progress Report Monitor
On 19 October 2021, the European Commission has published its latest progress reports for the Western Balkans and Turkey. The Progress Report Monitor shows the current status and progress achieved by each country in the enlargement process. It shows in detail who performs well and which policy areas challenge the candidates. Please finde the latest edition of the Progress Monitor here.
6 October 2021 Start of Study 2021
From 11 to 15 October, the Faculty of Social Sciences will be hosting its annual "Start of Study". Together with colleagues from both institutes, the dean's office and the FSR SOWI, Oliver Schwarz was in charge of the programme for the new students at the Institute of Political Science this year. 4 October 2021 Consultation Hours
Oliver Schwarz's office hours for the winter semester 2021/22 are now scheduled and can be booked as usual via Doodle. All appointments take place via BBB.
17 May 2021 Guest Lecture
On 1 June, Dr Thomas Brey will be a guest at the Duisburg branch of the SOG. Thomas Brey is a lecturer in political science and journalism. Previously, he was a foreign correspondent for the dpa for a long time. He will give a guest lecture on the topic "Bosnia-Herzegovina: Europe's Blind Spot? The lecture will take place from 18:30 to 20:00 online via Zoom (identification code: 828916). The event is open to the public and is open to all interested parties. 5 April 2021 Consultation Hours
With the start of the summer semester, Oliver Schwarz's office hours will be held weekly on Tuesdays between 10 and 11 a.m. Due to the Corona crisis, the office hours will be held via BBB only. An appointment can be made via Doodle.
10 January 2021 Book Launch
As part of this year's "Mittagsforum" at the Institute of Political Science, Oliver Schwarz will present his edited volume "Democratic Citizenship in Flux. Conceptions of Citizenship in the Light of Political and Social Fragmentation". In addition to the editors, some of the authors will also be present at the digital book launch. The volume has been published by Transcript and is available online in Open Access. The book launch will take place via BigBlueButton.
