Sonstiges 13.05.2024, 10:00 Uhr - 12:00 Uhr, WST-B04.05, Berliner Platz 6-8, 45127 Essen

We all plan and organize our day somehow. So the question is not whether you want to do time and self-management, but how you do it. Heavy workloads, complex projects and ever more crises constantly confront us with new challenges. In this course, basic techniques of time management will be presented as well as specifics that have to be considered when working scientifically – also in a home office.
Registration required (max. 12 participants) until 7 May 2024.
Contemporary scientific and research practice no longer takes place exclusively in isolated disciplinary contexts, but in discussion and exchange with nonscientific social actors. In view of the complex and pressing problems of our time, intensive and professional cooperation with society is just as important as the targeted translation of scientific knowledge in the sense of successful science communication. Over two days, the application-oriented workshop introduces aspects of science communication and social (external) impact, enables dialogical engagement with society and its moderation and locates the role of scientists in relation to social stakeholder groups. 1-day participation is possible.
Registration required until 15 May 2024.
This workshop is organized by UNIAKTIV/Institut für wissenschaftliche Schlüsselkompetenzen & Graduate Center Plus for AURORA SWAFS project

“So many tasks! I don’t know where to start!”, is a common challenge when it comes to preparing for exams, writing homework assignments and certainly when facing a Ph.D. thesis. To eliminate overwhelm and get (the right) things done, it is essential to have a clear goal, a long and midterm-plan and to be organized on a day-to-day basis.
The second part of this workshop takes place on May 31!
Registration required (max. 12 participants) until 10 May 2024.
