Low water, groundwater recharge, and drought

This project is carried out in cooperation between the group Aquatic Ecology of the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wasserforschung (IWW).

The aim is a literature-based inventory of the current situation with regard to dry periods in Germany. The focus will be on water management, energy management, agriculture, transport planning and ecology. In addition, the existing climate projection and the already existing measures and strategies for drought management will be considered.
