Profil
My primary research focus is the ecology of restored river reaches. I am active in ecological issues involving stream assessment, large-scale river ecosystem restoration, assisted migration and floodplain ecology. Along the way, community ecology of benthic invertebrates, fish, and macrophytes built the foundation of my experience. Other areas of interest include invertebrates’ adaptation to water temperatures and thus their indication potential of climate change.
I have been involved with taxonomic issues of benthic invertebrates for more than 15 years and have extensive experience in data analysis and storage. Field work is my spring and summer pleasure where benthic invertebrates and macrophytes are in the focus. I conducted trainings in planning, sampling, analysing and assessment of benthic invertebrate samples in several European countries, Israel, Turkey and Australia.
