In my work I focus on molecular methods in biodiversity monitoring, especially metabarcoding of Insects from Malaise trap samples. I am interested in method development that helps upscaling the collection of biodiversity data, especially the optimization of our laboratory workflows. This includes the design of new tools as well as method testing and comparison.

I am also interested in community structures of insects and how they are influenced by recent climate change and extreme weather events.

Meine Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit molekularen Methoden im Biodiversitätsmonitoring, insbesondere mit Metabarcoding von Insekten aus Malaisefallen. Ich arbeite unter anderem in der Methodenentwicklung, die dazu beitragen soll, die Erfassung von Biodiversität hoch zu skalieren und damit effizienter und schneller zu machen. Dazu gehört das Entwickeln neuer Werkzeuge sowie das Entwickeln und Testen molekularer Methoden.

Ich interessiere mich außerdem für die Strukturen von Insektengemeinschaften und wie diese durch den Klimawandel und Extremwetterereignisse beeinflusst werden.
