Juliane Borosch is a research associate in the department of Anglophone Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen and is part of the UA Ruhr graduate research group Scripts for Postindustrial Urban Futures: American Models, Transatlantic Interventions. Her dissertation project, tentatively titled “Jazzing Up the (Post)Industrial City,” investigates industrial heritage sites at the conjunction of creative and sustainable urban development in a transnational comparison of Detroit and the Ruhr area.

Between May 2021 and May 2022, Juliane Borosch was a visiting scholar in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, USA and a visiting resident scholar at the Humanities Center, also at Wayne State University.

She holds a combined BA in History and Anglophone Studies and a combined MA in American Studies and Literature and Media Practice both from the University of Duisburg-Essen. In 2018, Juliane completed her combined M.A. degree with the thesis “#OneChicago: Cross-Serial Narration and the Televised City.”
