In 2013 and 2014, the UDE participated in the auditing process of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.

Within the framework of this diversity audit "Shaping Diversity in NRW", the UDE has set itself the goal of intensifying internal cooperation and developing and implementing central measures and target group-oriented offers in cooperation with the university stakeholders in order to contribute to the qualitative improvement of the study and work situation. This diversity orientation thus contributes to the profile of the UDE as an attractive university location and employer for students and employees and is at the same time a quality feature of university development at the UDE.
