Our research group studies the biodiversity of aquatic ecosystems. We are interested in
especially how anthropogenic stress factors change biodiversity. One focus
of our work represents the development of modern genomic methods for the assessment and monitoring of

Multiple stressor research
Our group analyses effects of individual and multiple Stressors on aquatic ecosystems.
Biodiversity monitoring
We develop and apply new tools and concepts to monitor biodiversity and ecosystem state.
Genomic method development
One key aspect of our work is the development of innovative tools to assess and analyse genetic biodiversity data.
Population genetics
We use molecular markers to study population connectivity and genetic diversity of different macroinvertebrate species in stream ecosystems.
