The Chair of Technical Chemistry I at the UDE is part of the Faculty of Chemistry, which offers an
excellent, multidisciplinary and top-equipped research environment with 27 professorships and more than 250 scientific staff.

Your main tasks
- Head of a junior research group in the field of catalysis and laser-assisted catalyst development
- Independent acquisition and management of third-party funded projects, industrial cooperations as well as support and acquisition of planned and ongoing collaborative projects
(e.g. CRC/TRR 247) - Independent coordination and publication of scientific studies on the investigation and processing of research questions in the field of catalysis, chemical energy conversion, laser-assisted defect generation, doping and nanomaterial processing using pulsed high-power laser systems
- Management of the laser synthesis and catalysis laboratories of Technical Chemistry I https://www.uni-due.de/barcikowski-group/ in the NanoEnergyTechnology Center research building and subsequently in the new ACTIVE SITES research building

Your profile
- Doctorate in chemistry, physics, materials science or chemical engineering
- Pertinent experience in at least one of the two areas:
- Pulsed laser processing and/or synthesis methods,
- Nanoparticle synthesis and characterization and catalysis
- Authoritative appearance, (ideally) already experienced with project management and staff management
- Non-university experience and third-party funding experience preferred, proof of publication
experience required - Interest in team management, project management, research coordination and
research cooperation - Good to competent language skills (German, B1 or B2 level); the possibility to acquire and improve these as part of a language learning program
