Your main tasks
Participation in the DFG - project - “CO2 electroreduction catalyst discovery by high-throughput experimentation: From screening of thin-film material libraries to gas diffusion electrodes”, participate.
- SECCM measurements, data evaluation, analysis of the results of the flow cell measurements, manuscript writing, correlation of the electrochemical data with the structural data in collaboration with the Ph.D. student to be hired at RUB
- Perform the electrochemical CO2 electroreduction tests at the gas diffusion electrode
- Storage of experimental data and organized data, according to FAIR principles
Collaboration in a BMBF research project on the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2.
- Performance of electrochemical and structural measurements for the characterization of electrocatalysts including evaluation and interpretation of the results.
- Synthesis of carbon catalyst composites and their characterization.
- Production of modified gas diffusion electrodes.
- Evaluation of catalyst activity and selectivity in the CO2 electroreduction reaction.
- Performance of the electrochemical CO2 electroreduction tests on the gas diffusion electrode.
- Contribution to the annual report of the project and to the final report.
- Storage of experimental data and organized data, according to FAIR principles
Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated employee with an excellent academic record. We expect him/her to have an interest in interdisciplinary projects.
- Above-average university degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering or physics (diploma or master's degree) with at least 8 semesters of regular study time
- PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering with specialization in electrocatalysis, electrochemistry, technical chemistry
- previous scientific experience (e.g. knowledge of empirical research methods, laboratory procedures, experience with statistical analyses and corresponding software/other applications) necessary/desirable
- In addition, you will be involved in the implementation and execution of courses, and/or the supervision of students, according to the DFG rules.
- Technical skills are essential for the project at hand. Previous experience in electrocatalysis, in particular in the field of CO2 electroreduction, and in MatLab, Python or LabView is an advantage.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
- Knowledge of the German language is preferred but not mandatory.
