Your main tasks

The research activities aim to improve the understanding of the electrocatalytic activity of complex composite solid solutions (CCSS). The research activities will complement the activities already established in SFB 1625.

The following activities / measures are required:

  • Performing Scanning Electrochemical Cell Microscopy (SECCM) experiments on CCSS materials.
  • Carrying out atomic force microscopy experiments on the CCSS materials.
  • Correlation of the electrocatalytic activity of multi-metal thin films (from bimetal to CCSS) with the roughness of the measured surface.
  • Analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Publication of high quality papers in peer-reviewed journals and presentation of results at scientific conferences. Writing of manuscripts.
  • Preparation of weekly reports according to the rules of the group.
  • Active participation in the acquisition of external funding.
  • Data is expected to be stored according to FAIR principles.
  • Collaboration in the internship as well as preparation for lectures and seminars. Supervision of B.Sc. and M.Sc. students.

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated employee with an excellent academic record. We expect him/her to have an interest in interdisciplinary projects.

  • Above-average university degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering or physics (diploma or master's degree) with at least 8 semesters of regular study time
  • previous scientific experience (e.g. knowledge of empirical research methods, laboratory procedures, experience with statistical analyses and corresponding software/other applications) necessary/desirable
  • In addition, you will be involved in the implementation and execution of courses, and/or the supervision of students
  • Previous experience in electrocatalysis, in particular in the field of testing of gas diffusion electrodes, N2 activation is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Knowledge of the German language is preferred but not mandatory.
