Our group has been selected for the 2024 DAAD award within the BMBF-funded Program for Project-Related Personal Exchange (DAAD-DST) for our joint project with the Soil and Advanced Foundation Analysis for Resilient Infrastructure group at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. The topic of our joint research is the mitigation of dune migration and dust emission.

Successful PhD dissertation defense of Merve Seçkin (working group Matthias Sperl) at the University of Cologne, with participation of Dr. Eric Parteli in the PhD examination committee. Merve showed how to produce centimeter-sized dunes in a wind tunnel by using a special type of granular material instead of sand (see here).
