High frequency technologyMiniaturized terahertz systems

Detecting skin cancer, measuring gases on planets or tracking down bacteria: terahertz radiation can make all this possible.

Researchers at UDE are mapping the entire technology chain of this high-frequency technology, from the production of the semiconductor material and the manufacture of the chips to the production of the smallest radio devices. They cooperate with researchers from the universities of Bochum, Darmstadt, Dresden, Dortmund and Wuppertal, in particular also in the fields of medicine, biology, chemistry and physics.
