Project JaC-Lab
The BMBF-funded JaC-Lab project aims to build an international interdisciplinary network that supports the North Jakarta region to develop a sustainable urban planning strategy that manages the ongoing significant impacts and future issues of climate change and land use in the region. A specific objective of the transnational JaC-Lab consortium is therefore to integrate urgent short- and medium-term climate change adaptation and mitigation measures into a long-term sustainable urban transformation framework tailored to the characteristics of the region. In addition, the project aims to guide local stakeholders - government institutions, business representatives, civil society and academia: altogether the quadruple helix - to take and implement actions to maintain, improve or create a socially, economically and environmentally fair and balanced urban environment. The JaC Lab team uses the Urban Transition Management method to involve all relevant stakeholders in project development.
