Our chair's activities in the area of transfer and application directly reflect the perspective of applied geography that is consistently represented here. This transfer approach increasingly represents a "third mission" of university activities alongside the two basic pillars of the university, research and teaching.

In addition to our specialist profile focus on municipal and regional economic promotion and development, our transfer activities and competences also lie in the following areas:

• consultancy, studies and expert reports
• programmes with lectures and excursions
• teacher training and geography lessons

We offer transfer and application solutions for the respective problem and target group, so that our knowledge and expertise in economic geography, transport and logistics can be directly utilised in a practical and planning-oriented manner.

If required, we can also draw on our network from the German Association for Applied Geography (DVAG) and offer customised consulting solutions via our consulting spin-off Standortcoach.
