The study places for Environmental Toxicology are not limited. This implies that everyone, who fulfills ALL requirements will be accepted for the program. In the "application" step (which is form called the "equivalence assessment"), we check if you do fulfill those requirements. Afterwards you will get notified if you can proceed for the enrollment or not.
Application for Students from Germany, the EU or with a Bachelor degree of the EU
If you are a German and EU student you can upload your documents to the online application platform of the office of student affairs (Application starts in June).
Those are the requiered documents:
- the filled faculty application form
- your Transcript of records (incl. average grade and at least 150 ECTS)
- an english language certificate with a B2 level (Abiturzeugnis or University course or IELTS or TOEFL)
- if you have not finished your bachelors yet, a certification that your bachelor thesis is already registered, is needed
If you want to be sure that you can enroll before the lectures start, you should send in your documents before July, 15th. If you apply later than July 15th you will have to wait longer (due to vacation times).
After you have been accepted you can proceed with the enrollment process.
Lectures start in October. Even though we can check your documents before you finish your studies, you will have to be finished on the day of enrollment.
Instructions for the enrollment can be found here:

If you have questions regarding the equivalence assessment, please contact our study program coordinator Sabina Marks.
Application for International students with a bachelor degree outside of the EU
The following documents for International students have to be uploaded in online applications portal of the international office:
- the filled faculty application form
- a translation of the degree certificates, made by an officially recognised translator in English, in case the original documents are not written in German or English;
- copies of all transcripts or other academic records that give proof of the undergraduate studies including credits and grades achieved in each single subject;
- A translation in English of the transcripts and records, in case the original documents are not written in German or English.
- your bachelor thesis in an pdf format.
- An english language certification of a language examination according to CEFR, with a level of B2 (or TOEFL Test with 90 points or more (itB) or IELTS Test with 6.5 points or more )
If English is an official language in your country of origin, it may be sufficient to submit proof that English was the language of instruction at school and university. However, if the level of English in the application appears to be too low, the admissions committee may require a certified English test (eg IELTS or TOELF) afterwards.
The lessons starts in mid October. If you want to make sure to be here in time for the lessons start, please apply as early as possible. The application portal opens on May, 1st. We highly recommend to apply before June, 15th.
Students who send in their documents after June, 15th will be processed later and the decision will be send out later (this is due to vacation times in Germany). This often leads to the fact that visa can not be organized until the end of the enrollment period.
If you have questions regarding the equivalence assessment, please contact our study program coordinator Sabina Marks or Sandra Besch from the international office, who is responsible for the online application portal and the enrollment of the international students.
