Using the most state-of-the-art experiments, the Nano schools laboratory at the University of Duisburg-Essen shows how chemical and physical properties of materials change when shifting from the macroscopic world to the microscopic right down to the domain of only a few nanometres.

Together with the Department of Physics, the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen offers an interdisciplinary Nano Engineering degree programme, comprising both a Bachelors’ and Master’s degree programme. The main focus is on engineering aspects.
