We value fruitful cooperation between academic research and civic society.

We aim to foster a lasting relationship between the Mercator Graduate Programme and the City of Duisburg, especially with regard to our core research subjects, Open-Mindedness, Tolerance and Public Engagement. Our goal is for our PhD students and researchers to work closely with the City of Duisburg’s trade sectors, civic institutions and private citizens in order to further advance local academic research, exchange and study.

The Mercator Graduate Programme’s PhD candidates are invited to acquire their own research partners, beyond those listed below.
