Research
Our reseach is concerned with the numerical analysis of finite element methods and their use to study variational problems in many varieties. Particularly we work on the development of reconstruction-based a posteriori error estimators and mixed finite element methods and their analysis. Currently we focus our attention on applications in solid mechanics including hyperelasticity, plasticity and frictional contact.
Currently funded projects:
- Project "Approximation and Reconstruction of Stresses in the Deformed Configuration for Hyperelastic Material Models" (PIs: Bertrand/Starke) within the 2nd phase of the DFG priority programme SPP 1748 (2018 - 2021)
- Project "Stress-based methods for variational inequalities in solid mechanics" within the 2nd phase of the DFG priority programme SPP 1962 (2020 - 2023)
