IEM, Institute for Experimental Mathematics
Institute for Experimental Mathematics (IEM) |
The IEM is an association of different work groups of the Mathematics Department and other faculties employing or working on methods of experimental mathematics in various aspects. From 1989 until 2014 the IEM was a central scientific facility of the University of Duisburg-Essen and was situated in a separate building on Ellernstrasse.
In 2015 the work groups were integrated into the respective faculties both organizationally as well as spatially. Thereby the long time collaboration among the mathematical research teams was strengthened even more.
