Study participants wanted Study: "Influence of the Heart Rate in Activity Tracking"
The Competence Centre PAnalytics of the department Interactive Systems is looking for volunteers for a study about the "Influence of the heart rate in activity tracking".
The study includes two appointments (between 30 and 60 min) and another appointment to complete an online-questionnaire (about 15 min) with an interval of one week between the sessions and the continuous use of the step counting applications in daily life for 2 weeks. The study takes places in the time span between 04.08.2015 - 24.08.2015 in LE 309 at Campus Duisburg.
During the 2 appointments the heart rate will be measured with a chest strap (Polar H7). Steps will be counted with a smartphone-app based on an acceleration sensor. Site-data (GPS) will not be collected.
The following requirements must be met for participation:
- The participant needs to have a smartphone with Android 4.1 or higher on which the step counting app can be installed
- People who already use "Move My Day" are excluded from participation
- People with heart diseases are excluded from participation, because this could distort the results
- People who have a pacemaker are excluded from participation, because it cannot be ruled out that the pacemaker could be interfered by the chest strap
The participation will be rewarded with 4 VP-hours, if desired.
