 Benefits for members of the University of Duisburg-Essen

  • The University Duisburg-Essen has concluded a Read & Publish agreement with the publisher Elsevier as part of the DEAL agreement
  • The agreement covers both hybrid journals and Gold Open Access journals
  • Author fees (APCs) of submitting corresponding authors from UDE are financed and paid centrally from UDE. Invoices are processed by the University Library

 

Requirements 

  • You are a member of the UDE and responsible for submitting the article as corresponding author
  • The University of Duisburg Essen or the University Hospital must be specified as the first affiliation
  • Eligible article types:
    • Full Length Articles, Review Articles, Case Reports, Data in Brief, Microarticle, Original Software Publication, Protocol, Replication Study, Short Communication, Short Survey, Video Article

  • Approx. 2,500 journals, incl. the Cell Press and The Lancet brands
  • List of journals (included and not included)
  • Some journals from expert associations are not covered by the contract

CC licences

  • The DEAL Konsortium recommends the use of the Creative Commons licence CC BY, which provides the greatest possibility of reuse for your work. The less restrictive Creative Commons licences CC BY or CC BY-SA are also recommended in the UDE Open Access Policy
