Benefits for members of the University of Duisburg-Essen

• The contract with IOP entitles authors (corresponding authors) of the UDE to publish free of charge in selected IOP journals under an Open Access licence
• The contract covers both hybrid journals and Gold Open Access journals
• The author fees (APCs) of submitting corresponding authors of the UDE are paid and financed centrally by the UDE. Invoices are processed by the University Library

Requirements

• You are a member of the UDE and responsible for submitting the article as corresponding author
• UDE students can apply for article funding if a member of the supervising faculty supports or approves the publication of the paper. In these cases, funding is only granted upon application and is decided on a case-by-case basis
• The University of Duisburg-Essen must be specified as the first affiliation
• Eligible article types: 
  • Primary Research Article (Letters, Papers, Reviews and Special Issue Articles)

  • List A: Journals included in all transformative agreements
  • List B: Society partner journals
  • List D: Gold open access journals
• Exception: journals of the Electrochemical Society (List C) are not included

CC licences

• We recommend the use of the Creative Commons licence CC BY, which provides the greatest possibility of reuse for your work. The less restrictive Creative Commons licences CC BY or CC BY-SA are also recommended in the UDE Open Access Policy  Further information on the CC licenses can be found here
