Benefits for members of the University of Duisburg-Essen
- The contract with RSC entitles authors (corresponding authors) of the UDE to publish free of charge in RSC journals under an Open Access licence
- The contract covers both hybrid journals and genuine Open Access journals
- The author fees (APCs) of submitting corresponding authors of the UDE are paid and financed centrally by the UDE. Invoices are processed by the University Library
Requirements
- You are a member of the UDE and responsible for submitting the article as corresponding author
- The University of Duisburg Essen or the University Hospital must be specified as the first affiliation
- Eligible article types:
- All article types, except Comments, Editorials, Corrections and Retractions
- Date of acceptance must be within the licence period

- 37 hybrid and 17 Gold Open Access journals in the field of chemistry and related disciplines

- Exception: the journals "Chemistry World" and "Education in Chemistry" are excluded from free hybrid publishing

CC-Licences
- We recommend the use of the Creative Commons licence CC BY, which provides the greatest possibility of reuse for your work. The less restrictive Creative Commons licences CC BY or CC BY-SA are also recommended in the UDE Open Access Policy
