Faculty of Biology Central Collection of Algal Cultures (CCAC)
The "Central Collection of Algal Cultures (CCAC)" is one of the largest collections of algae cultures in the world. The CCAC currently houses 7,500 microalgae cultures from all over the world in four modern climate chambers operating at different temperatures. The CCAC accepts strains for deposit and currently has more than 5,100 phylum available for purchase.
Aquatic Ecosystem Research Genomics Core Facility
In the "Genomics Core Facility (GCF)" high-throughput screenings are carried out to characterise biodiversity.
One focus is on the characterisation of animal communities from collective samples and from environmental DNA (eDNA) using the “DNA metabarcoding” technique.
IWW Zentrum Wasser Central laboratory for toxicological analyses
In addition to contract research and analysis, the IWW's Toxlab also offers advice on toxicological issues and works on method development.
You can find an overview of the methods offered and the devices available on the IWW website.
Anorganische Chemie Central laboratory for scanning electron microscopy
