Infrastructure - Institute of Pharmacology
At the faculty of medicine, the Institute of Pharmacology is located in the Institute-Group I building (IG1). In total, the Institute of Pharmacology encompasses ten offices, thirteen laboratories and several storage rooms, including a cold room (in total 786 m2). The institute is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including RNA/DNA station, bacterial incubator/shaker, Tecan microplate reader, Western blot facilities and imager, Thermo scientific real-time PCR machine, an ultracentrifuge and various normal centrifuges, a patch clamp setup, a setup for combined calcium (fluorescence) and membrane-potential (patch-clamp) recordings, sonificator, and four tissue culture hoods. A ‘spinning disk’ confocal microscope allows 3D sectioning of samples and high-speed recordings of intracellular calcium-handling. Four -20°C freezers, two -80°C freezers and two liquid nitrogen tanks are dedicated to our group for the storage of samples and tissues. Labs for experiments involving both S1 and S2 safety regulations are available. |
