Rick Y. Lorberg
Rick received his bachelor’s degree at the institute for physiological chemistry at the university hospital Essen. There he investigated the storage of catalase filled albumin micro capsules in the group of Prof. Dr. de Groot. He continued his master at the university of Duisburg-Essen and joined our group for a synthetic internship, working on aromatic thioethers and photoreactions. He then did his master’s degree in our group working on luminophore rich silica nanoparticles and photoreactions taking place in these particles. After that he joined our group as a PhD student, proceeding his studies on luminescent nanoparticles and trying to induce phosphorescence in aqueous media for biomedical applications. Further topics of interest are creating luminescent materials and luminescent giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs).
