Biosupramolecular Chemistry Research
Aggregation induced emission (AIE) is a fluorescence phenomenon which occurs contrary to „normal“ fluorophores only in the solid or aggregated mode of an emitting molecule. Our approach is to modify a novel class of these emitters in that way that a fluorescence signal is obtained when a specific binding to a protein surface or pocket occurs. With this method it should be possible to find and evaluate novel binders and inhibitors for various proteins of interest.
