Project DigiCare
Digital Self-Management in trans-sectoral, inter-professional Care Structures for Oncology
Project goal
The research project “Digital self-management in trans-sectoral, inter-professional care structures for oncology - DigiCare”, which was officially launched in April 2023. It aims to create an intersectoral care structure for people requiring oncology care. For these people, continuous symptom control and self-management is important, as this self-monitoring, in close coordination with the institutions, forms the basis for a high quality of life. From a national perspective, there is currently no suitable structure that unites all sectors, i.e. a wide variety of medical facilities. In the context of the research project, an application is being developed that combines both questionnaires and chatbots,
Task and role of interactive systems
The Chair of Interactive Systems at the University of Duisburg-Essen is primarily responsible for the pilot study and evaluation of the demonstrators and prototypes. The DigiCare research project enables the participating institutions to organize their work more efficiently. Developing new infrastructure and thereby creating improved quality of life is a central goal of human-centered research and development of technologies.
