About me
In 1973 I was born in Iasi (Romania) and in 1992 obtained my university entrance qualification. Afterwards I studied Mathematics at the University "A.I. Cuza" in Iasi where I received my diploma in Mathematics-Mechanics in 1997.
In 1998 I completed my military service and in February I was employed as a junior-assistant at the Faculty of Mathematics. Two years later I was employed as a full-assistant and in 2003 I was promoted to lecturer at the Chair of Applied Mathematics.
Under the supervision of Professor Dorin Iesan I completed my doctoral thesis "Study of the deformation of some elastic solids with microstructure". I defended my thesis on July 4th, 2003. After I obtained my doctoral degree I worked as a postdoc from November 2005 till September 2007 at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Iasi. Since October 2007 I worked as an associate professor ("Conferentiar") at the Faculty of Mathematics.
Following this I switched to the University of Duisburg-Essen. Since 2011 I am a member of the working group at the Chair of Nonlinear Analysis and Modelling at the Faculty of Mathematics. In the time period October 2011 - September 2013 I was a member of the Project "MINT-Starter" (funded by the Bund-Länder-Programm "Qualitätspakt Lehre").
Alongside my first language Romanian, I speak German, English, and French fluently.
