MikroBeM
Effect of simulated and real microgravity on the movement kinematics of (un)trained humans
The MikroBeM project is investigating the effects of micro gravity on fine motor movements as well as on cognitive learning and stress states. Of particular interest here are changes in motor learning mechanism under real microgravity. The investigation is carried out by comparing the influence of real microgravity on the movement kinematics of untrained test subjects with those of test subjects who have previously trained under simulated microgravity. The real microgravity is induced by a parabolic flight, whereas an exoskeleton is used for training in artificial microgravity. In addition to movement kinematics, electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) are analysed to investigate the effects of learning and motor adaptation.
