Information on data processing
In accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we inform you about the processing of your personal data (Art. 4 para. 1 GDPR).
Legal basis
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1a) GDPR. Your participation is voluntary. We treat all data collected in strict confidence and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations.
Type of storage
All information that you provide in the context of this study will be pseudonymized (Art. 4 para. 5 GDPR), i.e. stored in paper form and/or electronically using a pseudonym (code) that is unique to you. This pseudonym usually consists of numbers and letters and represents an individual identifier. The pseudonym makes it possible to relate your data from various experiments, questionnaires and studies to each other without the need for a direct personal reference (e.g. using your full name). The pseudonym also serves to ensure that the data collected in the study cannot be clearly assigned to your person without the addition of further information. Your personal data used to contact you (e.g. your e-mail address to make an appointment) and the declaration of consent you have completed will be stored separately from the study data.
Purpose
The data collected will be used exclusively for scientific purposes to analyze the mobility behavior of Essen's citizens (see Art. 89 GDPR). Further information on the study can be found at www.uni-due.de/strali/projekt/. The data collected in the study can be used for scientific presentations and publications and made available to other scientists. This is then done exclusively in anonymized form, i.e. it is no longer possible to draw conclusions about your person. Individual case evaluations are not carried out.
Access to your personal data is only granted to students and employees of the Chair of General Psychology: Cognition and the Chair of General Business Administration and Mobility. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties!
Legal information
You have the right to obtain information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the subsequent correction, deletion, revocation or restriction of the processing of this data (Art. 15-18 GDPR). To exercise these rights, please use the contact option provided. With regard to all other data collected in the study, the rights can only be exercised if you provide us with your individual code (pseudonym). As soon as the data collected in the study is only available in anonymized form (i.e. the code has been deleted as an assignment function), subsequent information, deletion, correction, revocation and restriction of the processing of this data is no longer possible.
Criteria for the storage period
The data collected as part of the study will be stored for as long as it is relevant for the ongoing research (Art. 13 para. 2a & Art. 15 para. 1d GDPR). Personal data such as name, address or e-mail are collected voluntarily and deleted at the end of the project period. Further data will be requested separately in the course of the study, about which separate information will be provided.
All pseudonymized data collected in the course of scientific studies will be stored for ten years after completion of the respective project - in accordance with the "Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice" of the German Research Foundation DFG (https://www.dfg.de/foerderung/grundlagen_rahmenbedingungen/gwp/index.html). Please note that data that has already been reported in scientific publications or uploaded to scientific databases can no longer be deleted at a later date, as the data can no longer be assigned to specific persons once it has been anonymized.
Person responsible
The person responsible within the meaning of the GDPR is the Data Protection Officer of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Dr. Kai-Uwe Loser (kai-uwe.loser@uni-due.de). Further information on data protection at the University of Duisburg-Essen can be found at www.uni-due.de/verwaltung/datenschutz.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with any supervisory authority, for example with the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (www.ldi.nrw.de) (Art. 13 para. 2d & Art. 77 GDPR).
