STRALI - a short presentation

How can the charging infrastructure required for electromobility be strategically developed and adapted to the needs of citizens, businesses and urban transport planning? Can strategically placed charging infrastructure influence mobility behavior and achieve an optimal modal mix between walking, driving, cycling and public transport? How can an optimized charging infrastructure in commercial areas create an incentive for electrification and new settlements? The STRALI research project deals with these and other topics.

With the interdisciplinary team of engineers, psychologists, business economists, innovation and transportation researchers from the University of Duisburg-Essen and the companies IT-Objects GmbH and Schotte Automotive GmbH & Co. KG, the project was launched on 1st August 2023 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ellen Enkel. STRALI is supported by the City of Essen for a project duration of three years.

The STRALI project is being funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport with over 2 million euros as part of the mFUND innovation initiative.
