Project - Legal Struggles in Transnational Supply Chains

Legal Struggles in Transnational Supply Chains

The research project 'Legal Struggles in Transnational Supply Chains' examines strategies for mobilising the law under the concept of legal struggles, e.g. in the context of strategic lawsuits or the interpretation of the new German Supply Chain Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG). Two case studies will analyse strategic lawsuits against parties involved in the dam collapse in Brumadinho, Brazil, as well as the political and legal struggles over the interpretation of the LkSG.

The project is carried out in cooperation with the University of Kassel (Prof. Dr. Sonja Buckel, Dr. Dr. Carolina Alves Vestena, Dr. Judith Kopp) and the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (Prof. Dr. Maximilian Pichl).
