How do past experiences influence thinking directed toward the future? The central research goal is to understand the processes from memory formation and change to the development of future-directed cognitions. The translational neuroscientists at the UDE also focus on the interplay with the physiological and pathophysiological state of a person.
The interdisciplinary research team analyzes the complex interactions of microcircuits in cells and molecules up to the system physiological level. The scientists combine medicine, psychology and computer science. In this way, the researchers develop novel clinical procedures and identify new starting points that are also highly relevant in the treatment of common diseases.
