Raphael van Riel is interested in a variety of topics, mainly in the philosophy of science, the philosophy of language and in metaphysics. At the moment, he mainly works on questions in the philosophy of the social sciences and on scientific and non-scientific explanation.

Stefan Rinner's research focuses on the philosophy of language and related areas, such as philosophy of mind, epistemology and metaphysics. He is currently working on the semantics and pragmatics of hate speech and political speeches, the philosophy of language of psychotherapy, propositional attitudes and their ascription, the semantics of referential expressions and skeptical arguments in connection with semantic externalism.
