Prof. Dr. Herbert Wagner - honorary doctor of our faculty and habilitation father of Prof. Dr. Hans Werner Diehl - will receive the Max Planck Medal of the German Physical Society in 2016. Already in 1992, the faculty honored him with the degree of Doctor of Natural Sciences for his achievements as a scientist who has gained international renown through many fundamental contributions to the theory of condensed matter and statistical mechanics.  Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Herbert Wagner follows Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Robert Graham from our faculty, who was honored with the Max Planck Medal in 2008.
