Paul Gies is a research associate and PhD student at the Department of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen.The focus of his PhD thesis is the relationship of social isolation, loneliness and political solidarity in modern societies. His research interests include political solidarity, mental health in politics, quantitative methods and computational social sciences.
