Third annual conference of the Association for socioeconomic education and research (ASEER) | 21-22 February 2019 | University of Duisburg-Essen
The University of Duisburg-Essen is in the midst of the Rhine-Ruhr-area with one campus each in Duisburg and Essen. With its more than 43,000 students it belongs to the top ten of the biggest universities in Germany. The courses range from the humanities and social sciences over economics and business studies all the way to the engineering sciences and natural sciences (including medicine). It's also well known in the international scientific community.
The Faculty of Social Sciences has 190 researchers, 29 professors and 35 other employees and more than 3,000 students. It is one of the biggest Faculties for Social Sciences in Germany. Since 2017, also the Institute for Socio-Economics has found its place there.

The Fraunhofer-inHaus-Zentrum is an innovation lab for application-oriented research on intelligent room and building systems. It is located on the Duisburg campus, just a few meters away from the Institute for Socio-Economics.
Accomodation
The city of Duisburg is not far from the Düsseldorf trade fair. During the conference there are parallel trade fairs. This can have effects on the offer of hotel rooms in Duisburg. For this reason, we have reserved limited hotel room capacities for both nights.
