Disposing of waste properly Waste Disposal Policy
The Staff Unit for Occupational Safety & Health and Environmental Protection has published a new Policy on the Disposal of Waste at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Waste Disposal Policy).
This policy officially replaces the previous, obsolete waste disposal policies and regulates the collection and disposal of recyclable materials, residual waste and special waste in accordance with the current legal framework.
For members of the University, this policy serves both as a convenient instruction manual and a reference document for the disposal of all waste fractions typically generated by universities. As such, it guarantees legal certainty for the proper disposal of waste at UDE.
In addition to this Waste Disposal Policy, the intranet pages provide working aids such as sample labels for labelling special waste, which can be downloaded and edited.
Tip: use the Waste Disposal Policy as an instruction manual and a reference document for the disposal of all waste fractions typically generated by universities.

Re-use UDE Classified ads
Instead of disposing of furniture, equipment, materials or other items that are no longer needed, you can use this platform to arrange for their re-use. This service gives all members of the university the opportunity to place adverts or search specifically for items required for their area of work. This makes an important contribution to sustainability and economic efficiency at the university, as waste, disposal costs and new purchases are reduced.
